SEMINAR ON WOMEN’S HEALTH
Pushpagiri College Of Nursing faculty and students( Department of Community health, mental health, OBG and NSS unit)conducted a seminar on women’s health at thannithodu church. Organized by Pathanamthitta Dioces seethathdu ecclesiastical district. On 22 nd July 2023 a health awareness programme on women’s health was conducted in St. George Malankara Catholic Church, Thannithode. In the programme 16 students from fourth year BSc nursing who were in community health nursing posting, Prof. Vineetha Jacob, Principal ,Pushpagiri college of nursing and HOD department of mental health nursing , Prof. Renjini Devi, Vice Principal, Pushpagiri College of Nursing and HOD department of obstetrics and gynaecology , Sr. Mayukha SIC associate professor, department of community health nursing, Sr. Deepa OSS,assistant professor, department of mental health nursing,Mr.Renji George John, assistant professor, department of mental health nursing participated. The programme began by 10:00 am with a talk on women’s health by Prof. Renjini Devi ( OBG) followed by a session on mental health by Sr. Deepa OSS( mental health nursing) . Then after Sr. Mayukha( community health nursing) took a class on breast cancer and the students demonstrated post mastectomy exercises. The last talk was about postpartum depression given by Prof. Vineetha Jacob(mental health nursing). In between the class a short break was given which was occupied by the students by checking BP, weight and blood sugar. The priests thanked the team for conducting the programme and Sr. Mayukha delivered vote of thanks to the church authorities on behalf of all of us. The programme ended up by 1:00 pm. Food was arranged for all those who gathered there. Around 120 mothers participated in the programme .The programme was very informative and church members appreciated our efforts. It was a very meaningful day.
