B.Sc Nursing Admissions Details

As per Indian Nursing Council norms, the candidates should have passed +2 class with 12 years of school-ship with 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English.As per norms of Kerala University of Health Science (KUHS) for admission for B.Sc. Nursing, the minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of: Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course), Or Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2), Pre-Degree Examination (10+2), Or An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized board or university with Science (Physics,Chemistry, Biology) and English with minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

M.Sc Nursing Admissions Details

A Post Graduate Degree in Nursing will open a good number of job opportunities in both private and public sector including Military and Railways. Various positions for such candidates would include Lecturer in Nursing Colleges, Clinical Nurse specialist, Clinical Supervisor, Health Project Co-ordinator and Research project co-ordinator. Reasonable years of experience in the respective areas after PG degree would lead to promotion as Professor, Dean of Studies, Principal of Nursing College, Nursing Director/ Nursing Superintendent. Globally M.Sc. Nursing has a lot of scope in the Hospital sector, Academic sector, Public Health sector as well as in the field of Research. Many national, international hospitals and NGOs are hiring Post Graduate Nursing professionals on a regular basis. In fact, highly specialized nursing professionals are in great demand all over the world.

Candidates should have passed the regular Degree course in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc Nursing) with 55% aggregate marks from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC). Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from Universities other than from the Government Universities in the State of Kerala should produce Eligibility/ Equivalence Certificate for the qualifying examination from Kerala University of Health Sciences.

Professional Registration: Candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RNRM) with the Kerala Nurses & Midwives Council. Employment Experience: As on the date of joining for the course, the candidates should have minimum one year of experience after Basic B.Sc Nursing OR minimum one year of experience prior or after regular Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, in any hospital having minimum bed strength of 100 or in a School/College of Nursing with Community Health Program.
