    TRANSCULTURAL MEET 2023

    Pushpagiri College of Nursing, Thiruvalla in association with NAVIGO, UK organized a transcultural meet on 03-05-2023 at 2pm. The main objective of the meet was to plan and discuss future reciprocal relationships and collaboration between UK and Pushpagiri .The delegates from UK included eight officials from different hospitals in UK.
    The session started with prayer and welcome speech delivered by Prof.Vineetha Jacob, Principal, Pushpagiri College of Nursing followed by Sr. Mary Jyothi OSS, Prof. & Vice Principal (Admin.), presented an overview regarding the Pushpagiri College of Nursing. Next session was presented by Mr.Renji George John, Associate Professor, Department of Mental Health Nursing regarding an overview of BSc Nursing Syllabus in India. Following this, Ms. Virginia Russell, matron for Overseas workforce, York and Scarborough Teaching Hospital, NHS, York Trust, UK, presented an overview of Nursing in UK and Mrs. Debbie Bagley, Associate Director of Nursing for Surgery and Critical Care, Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospital presented on care for the deteriorating patient in the UK. Other team members were Ms. Emma George, Asst. Chief nurse, York and Scarborough Teaching Hospital, NHS, York Trust, UK. Mr. Michael searby, Matron Surgery and Critical Care Clinical Sources, Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospital; Mrs.Michelle Hailey, Matron Surgery and Medicine Clinical Services, Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospital, Mrs. Jane Miller, Chief Executive, Care Plus Group, Dr. Mathew Fortran, General Practitioner and Clinical Lead for the Humber and Northern Yorkshire Training Hub, Dr. Johaan Philip, Consultant Psychiatrist, NAVIGO. Following the presentations, there were informal interactions with students and teachers. Aradhana Maniyappan, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Medical Surgical Nursing proposed the vote of thanks. The entire session was anchored by Mrs.Roshin Siby, Assistant Professor, Child Health Nursing and Mrs. Aradhana Maniyappan. 70 participants participated in the event. Following a photographic session, the meet concluded by 4pm and was appreciated by all.
