NSS REPORT ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY PROGRAMME
The National Service Scheme unit (NSS/FU/PNT/KUHS/2) of Pushpagiri College of Nursing observed the International Women’s Day on 08/03/2021. The theme of this year was ‘Choose to Challenge’. Our NSS volunteers actively arranged and participated in a seminar based on the theme. The programme started with prayer song followed by the NSS song by Ms Giya and team. The NSS programme Officer welcomed the gathering and introduced the speaker of the day Mrs Grace Lal, the chief guest and chief speaker of the day. Fr Aby Vadakumthala, Director, Group of Institutions, inaugurated the session. The chief guest was honoured with ‘ponnada’ by our honourable director. The session continued with an inspirational talk by Mrs Gracelal. She pointed out the importance of being a strong woman in the society. She reminded the group that women empowerment is not just limited to dominating men, but flourishing with the oppurtunities with what we have.
The seminar successfully ended with vote of thanks by Ms Mridhula Shine and National Anthem. This session was a great oppurtunity for volunteers to conduct a seminar and was a great eye opener.
