Welcome to the department of Medical Surgical Nursing at Pushpagiri College of Nursing. Our department has evolved the largest department in the college of nursing due to the vast area of teaching as well as the clinical with over 8 full time nursing faculty a great support of faculty of Pushpagiri Medical College.
The academic programs of the department include UG & PG in nursing.
As a department, we uphold the institution’s vision and mission and so the quest for excellence at teaching, service and research.
The main mission of the department is education and outstanding patient care with a multicultural diversity. The educational mission of the department is to train exceptional Nurses and future leaders in nursing profession.
We believe the faculty very well represent the forefront of academic activities due to the extraordinary people doing things to support the mission of the department.
The result of the department which reaches far beyond the walls of our college of nursing to improve humanity and health throughout providing high quality patient care and training of next generation leaders in nursing.
The department has a long and proud history of research and discovery in the basic and Masters Sciences. Our impressive pool of talented researchers are renowned for bridging the bench to the bedside.
The department also takes great pride in providing unparalleled, comprehensive and innovative patient care due to the untiring effort of the department.
As part of World Glaucoma week celebration, third semester BSc Nursing students along with Medical Surgical department teachers participated in Glaucoma awareness Programme conducted by Amitha Eye Care Hospital from March 3rd to 6th. The theme for this year is “Uniting for a Glaucoma – Free World ’’emphasizing the importance of global collaboration in
World Cancer day is observed on February 4th. On this occasion, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing of Pushpagiri College of Nursing conducted cancer awareness health talk on Radio Macfast 90.4 FM. As a part of World Cancer day, Taluk Hospital Thiruvalla and Department of Medical Surgical Nursing of Pushpagiri College of Nursing conducted a flash mob on cancer awareness at KSRTC bus stand in Thiruvalla. Third semester students participated in the program.
