With a membership of 60,000 nationwide, the National Student Nurses’ Association mentors the professional development of future registered nurses and facilitates their entrance into the profession by providing educational resources, leadership opportunities, and career guidance.

Student Nurses Association

The Student Nurses’ Association, popularly known as SNA, is a nation-wide organization of nursing students. It was established in 1929 at the time of annual conference of the TNAI in Madras. The main purpose of forming the Association by TNAI was to provide vanities to the nursing students, facilitate their all round development and accredit them to join TNAI as qualified nurses.

Student Nurses Association is one of the best platform for the student nurses to participate actively in curricular and co-curricular activities, community health related activities, communicate issues and concerns relevant to nursing. The SNA unit of Pushpagiri College of Nursing was established in the year 2002. SNA unit aids in the development of the personality of student nurses, his or her professional role and responsibility for health care of people in all walks of their life. SNA works to provide opportunity for personal, intellectual, professional and social growth of its members. SNA unit conducts various educational and cultural programmes on special health days, monthly gathering and various clubs. Students are actively participating in Unit, Zonal and State educational and cultural competitions.

    FITNESS CLUB

    Zumba is a fitness program that involves cardio and Latin-inspired dance.  It strengthens the core with cardio and aerobic total body workout. Zumba engages every muscle in the body and involves lunges, squats, and jumping jacks too.     LAMP LIGHTING CEREMONY 2022

    INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY CELEBRATION

    The National Service Scheme unit (NSS/FU/PNT/KUHS/2) of Pushpagiri College of Nursing observed the   International Nurses day on 12/05/2022 at Pushpagiri college of Nursing, Thiruvalla.  The programme was conducted in collaboration with SNA unit. There were around 225 volunteers participated in the programme. The programme helped to make aware about the role of nurse in the society.

    REPORT ON WORLD AIDS DAY CELEBRATION

    As a part of the World Aids Day Celebration, we the Community Health Nursing in collaboration with the Medical Surgical Nursing and SNA UNIT conducted an awareness programme on December 1st 2021 .The theme for the 2021  World Aids Day was ‘END INEQUALITY; END AIDS’.     NSS REPORT ON ESSAY COMPETITION

    The NSS unit and SNA unit of Pushpagiri College of Nursing observed  Essay competition in relation to National Unity Day. The programme helped to develop patriotic feeling and enrich the knowledge on thoughts of sardar Vallabhai Patel and significance of celebrating National Unity Day currently. This Programme also helped develop writing skills of the volunteers.

    POSTER COMPETITION ON THE SUBJECT “NO TO DOWRY”

    Poster Competition on the subject ‘No to Dowry’ was  was conducted on 03-09-2021 at 1.30 pm by the SNA/students union at Pushpagiri College of Nursing as per the instructions from KUHS. The winners are- Ms. Honey K. H (2nd year B.Sc) Ms. Minnu Mathew (4th year BSc) Ms. Serin Joshy (3rd year BSc)
