VISIT TO TRIBAL AREA GAVI
As a part of our community health nursing posting 10 students visited Moozhiyar government UP school, Pathanamthitta on 3/2/23 as a part of “KARUTHAL 2023’’ programme. The students were guided by principal Prof. Vineetha Jacob , Community health nursing department associate professor Sr.Mayukha SIC and Mental health nursing department associate professor Mr. Renji George John.
The programme “KARUTHAL 2023’’ started at 12.30 pm. The aim of the programme was to create health awareness about personal hygiene and psychosocial counseling to the tribal community. The programme started with a prayer song followed by a welcome speech. The chief guest of the programme was Dr. Vincent Xavier, Govt. PHC Seethathodu and Mr. Eliyas , Headmaster Govt. UP school Moozhiyar. Felicitation was addressed by Dr. Vincent Xavier and Mr. Eliyas. The students
conducted health talk on the topic “PERSONAL HYGIENE” followed by a puppet show.
Students focused on different methods of personal hygiene mainly :
- Bathing
- Brushing
- Hand hygiene
- Skin care
- Hair care
- Nail care
- Foot care
Students also demonstrated above mentioned methods of personal hygiene. Finally one of the student Kumari. Athira.S re-demonstrated it. Later on notebooks, pen, paste, brush, soap, biscuit were distributed for 40 students studying in the school. Students done physical examination of 20 students in the school and checked their weight, height and BMI was calculated. Also monitored the blood sugar level, blood pressure of the teachers and the people who are living in the near by locality. We also distributed dresses and other necessary things such as paste, brush, soap, biscuit to the tribal community. Finally we concluded our programme with vote of thanks and national anthem.
