MEDICAL CAMP TO THE TRIBAL COMMUNITY RESIDING AT GAVI AND MOOZHIYAR
Pushpagiri College of Nursing, Thiruvalla conducted its fourth monthly tribal healthcare activities associated with PHC Seethathode, and DMO Pathanamthita on 19/01/2023 . A medical camp was conducted for the tribal community of Gavi and Moozhiyar with the help of Dr. Vincent Xavier Seethathode PHC Medical Officer . The medical camp was organized by departments of Community Health, Nursing Foundation and Mental Health Nursing. The program was coordinated by IQAC cell, PCON. The medical camp was coordinated by Fr. Aby Vadakumthala, Director Pushpagiri College of Nursing, Thiruvalla The members participated were Prof.Vineetha Jacob Principal PCON, Sr. .Mayukha SIC, Mrs. Shibi Marwin and Mr. Renji George John. The camp was provided Health Checkup and Medications for 44 members. It also provided food materials like rice, vegetables, pulses , cereals and other kitchen utilites to 35 families.Vitamin supplements and Food were supplied to under five children of the tribal population. The supplies of clothing like blankets, nighties, shirts, sarees, dhoties and kid wears were also given to the tribal community. A visit for medical observation and supplies of food and clothes was also given to the Ceylon camp at Gavi.The camp was benefital and well appreciated by tribal families and members of Ceylon camp . After the visit Fr. Aby Vadakumthala discussed the possibilities of medical care for tribal population at Pushpagiri medical college.
