NATIONAL LEVEL HANDS-ON WORKSHOP ON RESEARCH GRANT PROPOSAL WRITING
As a part of enhancing the quality in nursing Education, IQAC Cell of Pushpagiri College of Nursing has organized NATIONAL LEVEL HANDS-ON WORKSHOP ON RESEARCH GRANT PROPOSAL WRITING in collaboration with PCEBP on 3/10/2022. The aim of the workshop was to equip the researchers with skills to apply for grants in order to take up funded research activities. KNMC awarded 8 credit hours for the delegates attended the workshop. For organising the workshop, all the staffs called for meeting. The committees were formulated. The responsibilities and the faculties were divided as per the needs in each committee. The organizing chairperson was Prof: Vineetha Jacob, co-chairperson was Dr: Elsheeba Mathew, Sr: Mary Jyothi was the organizing secretary and the joint secretaries were Mrs: Jisha Mary George and Mrs: Ariya Thankachan. There was spot registration at 8am. The programme has started at 8:30am with welcoming Introducing the main speaker by Sr. Mary Jyothi OSS MSc(N), MPhil(N), Organizing Secretary & VP (admin.), PCON . This was followed by Session I: Grant writing-Funding Opportunities at 8:35am by Dr. Mamatha S. Pai MSc(N) MPhil (N) PhD, Professor, Dept. of Child Health Nursing, Manipal College of Nursing, Manipal. The session was completed by 9:30am. After the first session Dr. Elsheba Mathew MD, MPhil, GradDip HPE, Organizing Co-chairperson, Director-PCEBP & Faculty, Community Medicine, PIMS & RC has given a brief Introduction about PCEBP and introduced the speaker for next session. The second session started at 9:35am which was Basics in Grant proposal writing by Dr. Sherly Antony MD, PDCR, Asst. Professor, Microbiology Dept. & Scientist, PIMS & RC. The formal inauguration started at 10.30am. The prayer song was by Ms. Linda Varghese & Team, Faculty, PCON. Welcome address given by Prof. Mrs. Renjini Devi S. MSc(N), Vice Principal(acad.), PCON which was followed by Presidential address by Prof. Mrs. Vineetha Jacob MSc(N), PhD sch. Organizing Chairperson & Principal, PCON. The Inaugural address given by Rev. Dr. Mathew Mazhavancheril PhD, Director-Research, Pushpagiri & MACFAST followed by Lamp lighting. Keynote address given by Dr. Nebu George Thomas MDS, PhD, Professor, Dept the lunch break madam continued the next session on Tips for writing a Grant proposal. The closing session started with collecting the feedback from delegates. After that Ms. Alphonza Lizzy Mathew MSc(N), NAAC co-ordinator & Associate Professor, PCON presented a short report of the workshop. Then the certificates distributed to the delegates. The final Vote of Thanks given by Ms. Ariya Thankachan MSc(N),, Jt. Secretary & Lecturer, PCON. The formal inauguration ended with Vote of Thanks by Ms. Jisha Mary George MSc(N), Jt. Secretary, IQAC Co-ordinator & Asst. Professor, PCON. There was a small Photo session at the end. The third Hands-on session started after tea break. The session was on Drafting a Grant proposal by Dr. Mamatha S. Pai. After ended with national anthem. 68 participants from different disciplines attended the workshop. The hands on session was very interesting and the workshop was benefitted to all.
