WORLD RABIES DAY
We first year and second year BSC Nursing students of Pushpagiri college of nursing under the department of community health nursing , medical surgical nursing , foundation of nursing and NSS unit cordially conducted a public awareness programme about prevention and first aid of rabies in KSRTC bus terminal ,Thiruvalla . The programme started at 10 am by prayer . Sr. Mayukha SIC, Associate professor of community health nursing department of Pushpagiri college of nursing , Thiruvalla has delivered the welcome speech . Then Mrs . Shanthamma Varghese Thiruvalla municipality chairperson , Thiruvalla has inaugurated our programme by cutting the ribbon and has delivered the inaugural address. Then Prof. Vineetha Jacob , principal of Pushpagiri college of nursing had honoured the guest as a token of love from Pushpagiri college of nursing . Mrs .Shibi Mariam Thomas HOD of FON has delivered the felicitation speech . By 10.30 Am we started our awareness programme with a flash mob . After that we have performed a skit named ‘Theruvile Bheekarar’ based on dog bite , its treatment and first aid measures for dog bite .Through our skit we also provided health education on Rabies – definition , mode of transmission , epidemiological factors , pathophysiology , signs and symptoms -in the form of a parody song written and tuned by Mr . Xavier P Prasad. Mrs . Asha Ashok , NSS Programme officer and lecturer of FON , PCON has provided the vote of thanks . We thanked all our faculty members especially our principal prof . Vineetha Jacob , Sr mayukha SIC (associate professor Community health nursing department ) Miss Saniya( lecturer Community Health Nursing Department) ,Mrs Asha Ashok (NSS programme officer and lecturer dept FON ),Mrs .Shibi Mariam Thomas ( HOD of FON) and Mrs .Ritti Anne (lecturer of FON) for giving such an opportunity for us to conduct this programme and made this one a grant success.
