OLD AGE HOME VISIT
As a part of world elder’s day, Pushpagiri College of Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing department visited Bethany Jeevan Jyothi old age home, in Thiruvalla by fourth semester students on 30-9-24 and 01-10-24. There were 25 inmates in the old age home. Comprehensive health assessment was conducted for the residents. This included checking vital signs as well as evaluating overall physical health and mobility. Students organized entertainment activities and games for the senior citizens to promote social interaction, mental stimulation and emotional wellbeing. The residents actively participated in the activities, expressing joy and enthusiasm throughout the time. Lunch was arranged for the inmates. Memorandum of understanding was renewed to establish a collaborative partnership between Pushpagiri college of Nursing and the old age home. Fr. Varghese Thykkoottathil OIC, director talked about importance of old age visit and appreciated us for the visit and activities especially on International day for older persons. It was a very fruitful experience for the students.
