OLD AGE HOME VISIT BY MEDICAL SURGICAL DEPARTMENT
Visit to Old Age Home on 24/01/2024
As a part of Sparshanam, Pushpagiri College of Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing department visited Bethany Jeevan Jyothi old age home, in Thiruvalla.there were 22 inmates in the old age home. Comprehensive health assessment was conducted for the residents. This included checking vital signs as well as evaluating overall physical health and mobility. Students organized entertainment activities and games for the senior citizens to promote social interaction, mental stimulation and emotional wellbeing. The residents actively participated in the activities, expressing joy and enthusiasm throughout the time. Refreshment was arranged for the inmates, students and staff. Memorandum of understanding was renewed to establish a collaborative partnership between Pushpagiri college of Nursing and the old age home. It was a very fruitful experience for the students.
