AGRICULTURE PRACTICES SEMINAR SERIES
The National Service Scheme unit (NSS/FU/PNT/KUHS/2) of Pushpagiri College of Nursing observed the AMRIT VATIKA and AMRIT UDYAAN program by strengthening the skills of the volunteers in the same by arranging a guest lecture series by the Department of Agriculture in the Thiruvalla circle. The classes were on the importance of eating pesticide and harmful chemical agent free foods to our future generations. It also emphasized on the importance of practices on organic vegetable harvests and to create bio pesticides available in one’s own kitchen and returning that same to nature and getting back countless benefits from it. The program included eminent personalities from the Agriculture department, ADA, marketing, Mr. Mathew Abraham, ADA agriculture MRS. Janet Daniel, Asst Agriculture officer, Mr Jose. P Vayakal, Agricultural field officer, Mrs. Sheeja V and the ATMA staff from department of agriculture Pathanamthitta. The meeting was enthusiastically attended by the NSS volunteers in the Pushpagiri College of nursing, Thiruvalla. There were 50 volunteers in all who participated in this training session. The students also took a pledge that they will inculcate healthy agricultural practices at home and will cultivate their own vegetables in their kitchen garden.
