WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
NSS unit PCON, Department of Child health nursing, Mental health nursing and Community health nursing collaborated and conducted World Environment Day in the premises of Joy Alukkas and Jolly Silks, Tiruvalla.
World Environment Day is celebrated annually on 5th June and encourages awareness and action for the protection of the environment. It is supported by many non-governmental organizations, businesses, government entities, and represents the primary United Nations outreach day supporting the environment. The theme for World Environment Day on 5 June 2023 focused on solutions to plastic pollution under the campaign #BeatPlasticPollution. On 5th June 2023, Joy Alukkas foundation, Thiruvalla in collaboration with Municipality Pathanamthitta , Social Forestry Pathanamthitta and Pushpagiri college of nursing conducted World Environmental Day at Joy Alukkas showroom which is inaugurated by municipal chairperson Mrs. Anu George. Then after the retired forest officer were honored with medals and certificate. Municipal counsellor Mr. Mathews Chalakuzhi, Pathanamthitta social Forest Range Officer Mr. John , Pushpagiri college of nursing Vice Principle Sr. Mary Jyothi OSS, Sr. Mayukha SIC ,Mall Manager Mr. Shelton V Rapheal , Mr. Sijo Joseph, Mr. Franklin P F and Mr. Rakesh P were present. On behalf of community health nursing department 4th year BSc Nursing students of Pushpagiri College of Nursing presented an awareness programme .They also joined Joy Alukkas in distributing free saplings of around 10 varieties of trees.
