WORLD BOOK DAY OBSERVED
Every year, April 23 is celebrated as the World Book and Copyright Day, also known as World Book Day, to honour the great works by authors around the world. The special day has been marked by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as an attempt to promote the love of reading, writing books, translations, publishing and copyright.
It is often said that “books are a person’s best companions”. The World Book Day was first observed by UNESCO on April 23, 1995, as a worldwide celebration of books and reading and to encourage young people to discover the pleasure of reading.
On 23rd April 2022, Faculty and students of Pushpagiri College of Nursing, Tiruvalla, observed the Day by spending some time together reading in the library.
