INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR CONDUCTED ON 22nd APRIL 2022
Department of Mental Health Nursing, Pushpagiri College of Nursing and NAVIGO Health and Social Care, Weelsby View Health Centre, Grimsby, United Kingdom had organised an International Seminar on “Career Oppurtunites of Mental Health Nursing and Student Exchange Programme –An Indo-UK Collaboration” on 22nd of April 2022.. The program started at 9.00 am with prayer followed by welcome and keynote address by Prof. Sr. Terese SIC, Principal, Pushpagiri College of Nursing. Dr. Roy Abraham Kallivayalil, Professor & Head, Dept of Psychiatry, Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Sciences was the cheif guest of the programme. In his address he explained the importance and contribution of mental health nurses in clinical settings. The cheif guest presentation was followed by a presentation on Orientation to Mental Health Nursing Curriculum in India by Prof. Vineetha Jacob, Head Of the Department, Mental Health Nursing, Pushpagiri College of Nursing. Mrs. Jisha Mary George, Assistant Professor, Department. of Mental Health Nursing conducted a session on Career Opportunities for Psychiatric Nurses in India. Mr. Mike Reeve, Deputy CEO, NAVIGO Health and Social Care CIC talked about Nursing Career and Opportunities for progression further.He also expressed his ideas on student exchange programme between Pushpagiri College of Nursing and NAVIGO, U.K. Dr Lokesh Aresh, Consultant Psychiatrist and Joint College Tutor, NAVIGO Health and Social Care CIC , lectured on the topic Person care in Dementia. Dr Joji Kuriakose Consultant Psychiatrist and Joint College Tutor for NAVIGO , explained about Job oppurtunites for nurses in Community Psychiatric Nursing, as Non-Medical prescribing and Advanced Clinical Nurse Practitioner. The informative session was followed by face to face interaction between participants and delegates. The seminar had concluded at 12.45pm with Vote of Thanks by Sr. Mary Jyothi OSS, Vice-Principal of Administration, .Pushpagiri College of Nursing.
