NEW BORN Week
The new born week is celebrated from November 15 to 21 every year with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of the newborn care for child survival and development. The new born period is a crucial period as it carries the increased risk of deaths per day than any other age group. They eventually grow up into healthy individuals if raised with good care. The Pushpagiri College of Nursing 3rd year BSc(N) students and the Department of Child Health Nursing celebrated the newborn week on November 22nd amongst postnatal mothers admitted in the post natal ward of the Pushpagiri Medical College Hospital. About 20 postnatal mothers and their immediate caretakers participated in the health awarenessprogram. The students demonstrated the basic procedures of newborn care at home using a wide variety of AV aids. The awareness programme was conducted following covid appropriate protocols.
