WORLD IMMUNIZATION DAY
Immunization is the process whereby a person is made immune or resistant to an infectious disease, typically by the administration of a vaccine.
Every year, 10th November is celebrated as World Immunization Day. The Day is observed with the aim of highlighting vaccination as a low-tech, cost effective, high impact solution to prevent illness and disease in individuals of all ages.
The Department of Child Health Nursing and 3rd year BSc Nursing students (BSc 2018 batch) observed the Day on 15th November by organizing a group health education program at Antenatal OPD at 2.30pm. People were made aware about the importance of getting timely vaccinations against vaccine preventable diseases. Around 20 people attended the program.
